Focus On : Commitment

At PBC we have 5 Core Values - I would like to take this opportunity to talk about one of those core value's: "Commitment". This value reflects our commitment to our people, continuous improvement, and seeking win-win solutions for all involved.

Commitment is defined in the Meriam Webster Dictionary as “an agreement or pledge to do something in the future”. To PBC Commitment is about ourselves, each other, and our clients. We seek in ourselves the commitment to show loyalty, express respect, and appreciation - being strong enough to convey honesty and trust.

At PBC we commit to communicate with each other respectfully and “disagree agreeably.”

Committed people are very open and frank. They have good self-concept, strong self-esteem, and they possess the ability to understand the balance between what they want with what they're capable of.

We often hear how a work life balance is important, and it's valuable to commit to this – but before you can you must first realise that when you commit to the people and things that are truly important to you, your family, your career, or your company, the results are that your relationships will improve. You will be more successful in achieving your goals and you'll have more time to enjoy your journey.

Our soft skills such as leadership and commitment are increasingly difficult to identify, and yet in a world that seems to be starved of leadership we need not look far for the attributes that make good leaders, managers, and friends.

It is often said that commitment is one of the best drivers of leadership, and leadership is vital to any organisation.

Summary

I’m so proud to be able to say that commitment is one of PBC’s core values.

I thank those who embrace our core value of commitment everyday and am thankful for people with this character for choosing PBC to be their choice of organisation. We are absolutely who we are because of them.

Commitment helps effect change.
