Behind the Build: Installing 18-Tonne Precast Panels on Dean Street

Wednesday 17th June, 2026

Premier Building & Construction has successfully completed a significant project milestone with the installation of five precast concrete panels along Dean Street.

To facilitate the lift, a temporary road closure was implemented from 8pm-6am, allowing the safe delivery and installation of panels weighing between 13.3 and 18 tonnes each. Due to the size and weight of the panels, a crane operating with a 52-tonne counterweight was required to complete the works safely and efficiently.

Projects of this nature require extensive planning, coordination, and collaboration between project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, traffic management personnel, and local authorities. Every detail must be carefully considered to ensure public safety, minimise disruption, and maintain project momentum.

The successful installation marks an important step forward in the construction programme, with the precast panels now forming a key structural element of the building.

At Premier Building & Construction, we take pride in delivering complex construction activities with precision, safety, and professionalism. Milestones such as this demonstrate the expertise, planning, and teamwork required to bring major commercial projects to life.

We look forward to sharing further updates as construction continues. See timelaspe captured below:
