PBC Staff Spotlight – Chris Chant

This month we catch up with Integrated Management System & Human Resources Coordinator Chris Chant.
The Albury local chats about the biggest changes since the pandemic in HR and why it was PBC’s values that led him to his new role.

What drew you to a career in Human Resources?
It’s more than just a job! HR is a profession that is ever changing, with new strategies used to develop performance plans, it’s great to see people come into the business and then to watch team members grow and develop within their Job Description.

When did you start at PBC and what was it about the business that attracted you to the position?
I started at PBC in December last year after being introduced to the business by my daughter.
I am committed to OHS/WHS systems and procedures that keep everyone safe (safety being one of the five values).
During my first Interview I sat in the foyer, I read the 5 business values displayed on the wall. When you look at something you form an opinion. My opinion was that this was and is fantastic opportunity for me to learn about the business.

Biggest changes in the workplace since Covid19?
The workplace has needed to react, and change based on each identified risk, we have had to be responsive with implementation and the everchanging Covid-19 situation. We saw a fundamental shift in the way people work with obvious precautions and the flexibility in some cases for work to be done from home.

What do you enjoy most about working for PBC?
A positive culture in the workplace ensures quality outcomes, this is achieved with great communication. Celebrating success, ranging from employee milestones to completions of projects.
